I think Deems has a pretty valid point that he completely undermines by being a huge ***hole. I firmly believe in supporting your team regardless of whether they win or not and it has to be kind of hard for these 18 year old kids to be so overshadowed by their basketball counterparts. The sewage remarks definitely take his argument to another level though. I think it also has to be taken into consideration (and I'm putting myself into this category) that some fans just like basketball more than football, regardless of the success of the respective programs. I'm sure there are plenty of Carolina fans whose preference leans towards football and I'm thrilled that they now have a program that at least has the potential to be a major contender.

Yeah, I saw this the other day. If you don't want people to make fun of you, try winning more then one game a season. My grandma can win more then one game a season playing in the ACC. And if you want to be better then the basketball program, better start winning national championships. I do agree with his point, we should support all Tar Heel teams, including baseball, soccer, wrestling, field hockey, etc. But he does a very poor job of expressing it. Maybe someone should give him a tissue and take him to the UNC Basketball Museum.
