No Official Game Day Thread Today

North Carolina takes a mid week break late in the season. The Heels have games remaing with Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech and Duke.

A week without a UNC game is a hard thing to cope with, especially coming off of a loss such as the one our boys suffered at Maryland on Saturday. The occurrences of this week (following the trend of this surpassingly tumultuous season) are doing fairly well in helping me survive the Tar Heel drought. First of all, I'm reveling in the fact that OU has lost two games in a row. I'm not saying that I'm happy about Griffin's injury, I think it's poor sportsmanship when fans are happy about or wish for an injury to a player on an opposing team. What I am happy about is that it is finally becoming evident that a team cannot ride for an entire season on the shoulders of just one player. Accompanying OU's loss is Pitt's loss after only two days back at number one. I don't want UNC to be number one, I don't think they need that mark on their back, therefore I don't really care who is number one. Despite this, I'm still bitter about Sunday's loss and my pettiness takes comfort in the loss of other elite teams. What would make this week even better is if either Duke or Clemson lost tonight. I won't be greedy and ask for both but one more game between us and the second place teams (and the satisfaction of seeing Duke lose) would be nice.
