Clemson - Duke
Miami - Wake
This sure was a shock.

Clemson's win doesn't surprise me at all, but the spread sure did. Something has changed for Wake in the last two weeks. Only the SC football team is supposed to tank like that after getting expectations so high. ;)

I watched the Clemson Duke game and I am always happy to see Duke lose, but I have to say the Clemson players conducted themselves poorly. Tanner Smith, a freshmen guard who plays off the bench, was raising the roof in Little John a few minutes before halftime. In light of some of his teammates' performances, Smith's 15 minutes and 5 points (for the game, not by halftime) did not afford him the right to behave in such a boisterous fashion. Regarless of his performance and the fact that it was just poor sportmanship, taunting a team of Duke's caliber before the first half is even over is just asking karma to bite you in the kiester in the second half. It didn't, but Smith's actions were still unnecessary.
After last night, I think Oglesby has officially become my least favorite player in college basketball. First of all, he whines like a fat kid put on a diet. After every single play he is upset about something. That is kind of a constant though. Last night towards the end of the game he kept throwing up three's in order to get his stats up with 30 seconds left on the shot clock. He kept missing these attmepts as well. It was like he wanted Duke to have as many chances for a comeback as possible and as much time to do it in as he could give them.
By far my favorite Oblesby special from last night came in the closing minutes of the game. He had the break away and he went for the power dunk; hands gripping the rim, knees raised, screaming. Where was the ball while this was ocurring? Not in the basket. The ball bounced off the back of the rim so hard I think someone on the bench caught it. The camera had a fairly close up shot of this so when Oglesby dropped back down to the floor it left Coach Purnell perfectly framed. His eyes were closed, he had his chin in one hand and he was shaking his head. This is how all of Clemson should have felt, but no. The crowd loved it. Way to go Tigers, you go get that respect.

Looks like this definitely helped the Heels with standings. The race is still wide open.

Terrancy Oglesby's impression of Vanilla Ice. I wish I had the clip that shows Oliver Purnell just shaking his head.
