I'm organizing a benefit concert called Hark the Sound 2009 for the Eve Carson Memorial Fund. It's going to be on Sunday, May 24 at The Pour House in downtown Raleigh. Right now, I'm looking for sponsors to help cover the cost of renting the venue and making promotional posters. One of the bands is designing the flyers, I just need to get a little cash to be able to get them printed so I can post them around Chapel Hill/Raleigh.

The cost of renting the venue is $250. I'm not expecting any one person to give that, even though it would be absolutely amazing. Any amount you could possibly give would be great. I'm just trying to avoid taking any of that cost from the door proceeds. Last year, we raised over $500 for the fund and I want to try and double that this year.

If you are interested in helping out, e-mail me at jnstevens@alumni.unc.edu and I'll let you know how you can. Alternatively, you can go to my blog (http://tarheelconservative.blogspot.com) and click the donate button I have there.

I hope you raise the money, her death is extremely tragic.

Thanks HeelGrad07 for doing this. Like Worthy said, it was so tragic and heart breaking. Could you post a few more details, ie. what time, how much are tickets, and what the Fund pays for? Hopefully we can drum up some more support for such a great cause.

I haven't gotten all the details like time, etc. nailed down yet. The cover will probably be $8-$10 at the door, and the all the money in the fund goes toward the Eve Carson Junior-Year Merit Scholarship.
