In light of our recent losses I questions how my personal involvement in each game affects the outcome. Can't Roy just tell me what I can do to help. Should I watch closely, wearing my team t-shirt, framed picture of Dean hung in the living room, face painted, saying prayers the whole time. Should I make my dog and cat watch? I want my level of commitment for winning to equal T. Brough's but will my efforts jinx the team? Sometimes if I don’t watch, or just leave the room but keep the tv on, the Heels go one a streak without me. Maybe I should play it cool instead of pushing too hard.
I know I’m not the only one with these problems. Please post some of your superstitious game rituals. Maybe by posting on Heel Talk the basketball gods will favor us:confused.

My lovely girlfriend was kind enough to buy me a hansbrough jersey for my birthday in december. Not one of the off brands, or cheaper ones, but the expensive Nike #50 replica. I absolutely love it, but so far the only game I've worn it for is the BC game. Is it now cursed? Dare I risk it again? I'd hate to lose such a great item, but if that's the cost of winning....

Well, the jersey worked ok, I think I'll give it another shot. I used to have a blue lighter that I had with me for every game during the 2005 season. I kept it and would carry it during certain games until last year whn I threw it away after the kansas game.

I never shave on the day of a big game. Luckily I can go a few days without shaving.

I often worry about my own contributions to the games, but can never remember commonalities of appearance and action between games. I usually don't think about till we are losing and then cannot figure out what I'm doing differently. One thing I never do is turn off a game, regardless (or irregardless for some posters) of whether we are winning or losing, before the game clock runs out. I don't care if there are only three seconds left, I'm convinced it's bad karma.

I have gotten to the point where I get so jacked during the game that I bring out my curl bar and do bicep curls and military presses

Wow, candlewood, sounds like you're not a man to be messed with. If there's anyone around that's not a tar heel and its a close game, I have to go to another room and watch by myself. Prevents hurt feelings, broken remotes, and thrown beer cans.

I bought a pennywhistle and was fooling around with it during a 2005 game and learned the fight song. Can't remember which game, but I clearly turned the tide in our favor.
