Tonight the Heels open ACC conference play with a home game against BC. The game starts at 5:30 and will be televised on Fox Sports Net.

I think the most interesting storyline of tonight will be seeing what Rice does this year. Last year he put on one of the craziest shows I've ever seen. I will be quite surprised if he puts up 30 + points, much less the 40 + of last year. However, I still expect a strong showing and I bet he'll get at least 20. I'm looking forward to (1) what our defense is going to do with Rice and the rest of them and (2) how the battle of the point guards will turn out. Lawson last year was the playmaker PG while Rice was the scoring PG. This year, Ty is both the playmaker and the scorer and I am curious how teams are going to react to this dual threat now. The deciding factor, though, will be what the rest of Rice's team can do. BC is tough and I think it will be a good opener for our guys to make a statement. As much as I would love to see it, I really don't think its realistic to expect an undefeated conference schedule, much less continuing this streak of winning every game by double digits. However, I think tonight we'll keep it going.

Well, 46-40 at halftime. I hate BC so very much. I've hated them since they joined the ACC. Obviously not as much as I hate dook, but right now its pretty bad. I hope we lock down Rice and hang 60 points on them this half.

I know I'm on here talking to myself, but this game is killing me. I'm chewing off all my fingernails. I think we need to stop jacking up 3s and just feed it inside, bang out some points and let BC rack up fouls. They don't have the depth down low to take a lot of fouls.

Alright guys, 1:23 left, 6 point deficit. Southerland fouled out. We can do this.

Well that blew. I feel so bad for our guys. I think there's going to be some real positives that come from this, but I didn't want it to happen. Freaking BC. I expect to see a new team come out next game and prove why we're the best team in the nation.

That's a shame, a really tough loss.

Getting our first loss out of the way isn't the worst thing in the world. We don't have to worry about the undefeated label anymore. Now the team can concentrate on what really matters for the season. I just wish it hadn't been BC and the insufferable Rice that we lost to. On a positive note, the comeback attempt at the end of the game looked good except the fact that they couldn't get the ball to drop.

I agree. Kind of like the Santa Clara loss in 2004. Better to just get it out of the way. Some nights, no matter who you are, the shots just aren't going to fall. We shot a ridiculous 29% in the second half. It was a good sign that they still came so close. I just really hate BC. At least they don't still have Jared Dudley, I can't stand that guy.
