Here are the preseason rankings that have the Heels listed at #2 behind LSU. I don't put a lot of stock in rankings throughout the season, much less preseason, but for what its worth:

I honestly don't follow baseball enough to give a definitive answer, but my understanding is that baseball rankings are the most worthless (which is really saying something considering BCS football rankings). I think the cocks were ranked in another poll, but I don't have a link to any. Either way, with some quality wins as the season starts, I'm sure these polls will change drastically.

Interesting that Vandy and South Carolina are the first two teams out. I thought Clemson would be a little higher than 26.

UNC is right where they should be really. Top 5 depending on the poll. I am shocked that USC is not in the Top 40 though. When is the last time the Gamecocks have not been ranked Top 15 preseason?
